We’re thrilled to announce three major releases that represent significant milestones in RPGJS Studio’s evolution. These updates bring powerful new capabilities, improved workflows, and broader accessibility to game creators everywhere.


1. Event Builder: Create Scenarios Without Code

We’re introducing a revolutionary Event Builder system that completely transforms how you create game events. This visual, block-based approach eliminates the need for programming knowledge, making game development accessible to creators of all skill levels.

What is the Event Builder?

The Event Builder allows you to create events—like character interactions, quests, or game scenarios—using a visual block system instead of code. Simply drag and drop blocks to build your game’s logic and narrative flow.

  • Visual Workflow: Intuitive block-based interface that makes game logic easy to understand
  • Rapid Prototyping: Build and test game events quickly with immediate visual feedback
  • Accessible to Everyone: Whether you’re a seasoned developer or a complete beginner, the Event Builder empowers you to bring your game ideas to life

Current Capabilities and Future Enhancements

The Event Builder is now available and fully functional for creating character events and game scenarios. However, we’re actively working on expanding its capabilities. Coming soon:

  • Character Movement Blocks: Move characters programmatically within your events
  • Camera Control: Dynamic camera positioning and movement
  • Animation Blocks: Trigger character and object animations
  • Map Transitions: Seamlessly switch between maps during events
  • etc…

These enhancements will make the Event Builder even more powerful, allowing you to create complete game experiences entirely through visual blocks.

AI Prompt Generation (Temporarily Unavailable)

We’ve temporarily removed the AI prompt-based event generation feature to focus on improving the core block system. Our goal is to reintroduce this feature with enhanced capabilities that can generate complete block-based scenarios from simple text prompts—all without coding.

This requires significant development and refinement to ensure the generated scenarios are relevant, interesting, and properly structured. We’re taking the time to build something truly valuable that will revolutionize how events are created.

In the meantime, everyone can already create scenarios using the visual block system, which is a powerful tool in itself!


2. Enhanced SpriteSheet Generation: Preview Before You Generate

Our SpriteSheet generation system has received a major upgrade, making character creation more efficient, cost-effective, and user-friendly.

Two-Step Generation Process

Step 1: Character Preview (1 Credit)

When creating a character, you now get a preview before generating the full SpriteSheet. This preview costs only 1 credit—significantly less than full generation—allowing you to refine your character concept before committing resources.

You can also refine the preview by adding specific details or modifications. For example, you can request additional accessories, clothing changes, or style adjustments to get closer to your vision.

Step 2: Full SpriteSheet Generation

Once you’re satisfied with the preview, you can generate the complete SpriteSheet. The new system automatically creates a full SpriteSheet with all four base directions (up, down, left, right), giving you a complete, animated character ready for your game.

The SpriteSheet generation uses Nano Banana Pro, an advanced image generation model. We’ve done extensive work to ensure consistency across directions and animations, maintaining visual coherence throughout the character’s movement cycles.

Current Status

This feature is still in active development. While the core functionality is working, you may occasionally encounter minor inconsistencies during generation. We’re continuously improving the system and refining the algorithms to deliver more reliable results.

The direction and animation consistency work is ongoing, and we’re committed to making this feature even better in future updates.


3. Public Release: RPGJS Studio is Now Open to Everyone

RPGJS Studio is no longer invite-only! We’re excited to announce that anyone can now access RPGJS Studio and start building maps, creating scenarios, and developing games.

What’s Available for Free Users

Free users can immediately:

  • Create Maps: Build and edit game maps using our powerful map editor
  • Create Scenarios: Use the Event Builder to create game events and interactions
  • Access Pre-built Media: Download and use media assets from our shared media library
  • Test the Platform: Explore all features and get a feel for RPGJS Studio’s capabilities

Current Limitations

At this time, free users cannot purchase credits for AI-powered image generation. However, you can still:

  • Use pre-built media assets from the media download section
  • Create maps and scenarios
  • Build complete game experiences using available tools

This allows everyone to test the platform, provide feedback, and start creating without barriers.

Future Credit Opportunities

We’re planning to offer special credit opportunities at exceptional moments. These may include:

  • Promotional credit giveaways
  • Community events with credit rewards
  • Special campaigns for early adopters

Additional Improvements: RPGJS Engine Updates
